A career as a fitness professional
For countless years I’ve been dragging my friends to the gym, Jacob’s Ladder, the pools, surfing and more in the quest for both fun and fitness. In 2008 I decided to take advantage of my sporting background and start a career in the industry that has been such a huge and influential part of my life.
It was a natural progression to move into personal training. I am fully qualified, insured and registered with Fitness Australia. I undertake courses regularly to keep my skills and knowledge current.
I’ve now spent over 10yrs in the fitness industry working with professional athletes, skinny guys trying to bulk up, weight loss clients, those training for emergency service physicals, special needs clients and the list truly goes on. I’ve also been completely blessed with opportunities of writing a newspaper's health and fitness column, co-hosting, writing and eventually hosting a radio program focused on women’s sport and I've mentored several newbies in the personal training world.
During my time on the radio, it was a bit of a dream come true to interview quality, top level athletes such as AFLW’s 2019 goal of the year winner Ash Sharp, Opals squad member and WNBL star Lauren Mansfield, professional wrestling champion Lena Kross, Perth Scorcher’s pace bowler Piepa Cleary as well as many others.

Why I love what I do...
- I find my career in the fitness industry satisfying because I am constantly meeting new, interesting people with different needs.
- The human body is a unique machine which doesn’t always behave in predictable ways. Personal training can be challenging at times, working around and rehabilitating injuries, but it is always rewarding to negotiate these curve-balls and to witness the happy faces when the amazing results start rolling in.
- I believe physical health is closely tied to mental well-being, and enjoy watching the many ways being fit helps my clients be happier people.
- I train my clients from their homes or other places of their choosing, providing flexibility and individually tailored training. This meets the needs of the people I train, and keeps work varied and interesting for me.
